Evolution
From our founding days to the present, Sylvestrian Media has evolved while maintaining our core values and commitment to excellence.
In 2005, we implemented an internal radio system with the latest technology available at the time, becoming one of the first schools in Sri Lanka to have such an advanced system.
In 2012, we proudly launched the Swarna Panhida All Island Interschool Media Day competition, a landmark event that brought together young journalists from across Sri Lanka.
In 2015, we introduced the Madawala S. Rathnayake award for the most outstanding media journalist of St. Sylvester's College.

Our Journey
Establishment
Sylvestrian Media was officially established as the media unit of St. Sylvester's College.
Internal Radio System
Implemented an internal radio system with the latest technology available at the time, becoming one of the first schools in Sri Lanka to have such an advanced system.
Swarna Panhida Launch
Launched the Swarna Panhida All Island Interschool Media Day competition, bringing together young journalists from across Sri Lanka.
Madawala S. Rathnayake Award
Introduced the Madawala S. Rathnayake award for the most outstanding media journalist of St. Sylvester's College.
Sri Lal Gomez Shield
Introduced a shield for the champions of the Swarna Panhida competition, dedicated to the memory of Sri Lal Gomez, a veteran photographer and proud alumnus.
